Lead Generator

Naturalegro LLC

Naturalegro LLC, a vitamin and health supplement distributor, wished to contact a large number of potential outlets and affiliate sales sites. Their objective was to find at least 50 new online distributors for their vitamin and supplement products. They had investigated most of the traditional affiliate program management sites and found the upfront investments to be too high.

They contacted Netsmartz who, a year before, had done an excellent job on their web design. They chose to do an outbound email campaign to 1,000 vitamin and health supplement (and similar) sites. Netsmartz did the following:

  • Identified 1,000 contact targets using Google and several online directories.
  • Created a database of these target sites.
  • Set up a template for an outbound email to each target. In each case, the “reply-to” address for each email was Naturalegro.
  • Sent out 1,000 emails, one at a time, to the target list over the next 20 business days.

Campaign Performance

12%, or 120 of the contacts replied to the email. Of these, 93 arranged phone call follow ups over the next several months. Of these, 81 became active affiliate sales sites for Naturalegro. Naturalegro’s acquisition cost per affiliate was calculated at approx. $25, including internal staff time.

Turner Mackenzie, Real Estate

Real Estate broker, Turner Mackenzie, had purchased a directory of prospective home buyers and land investors in the upstate New York area. This directory had been assembled by a service provider who had gathered data from a number of online and offline sources including real estate sites that registered prospective buyers for newsletters, etc.

Turner contracted with Netsmartz to send outbound emails to 2,000 contacts in this database over a four-month period.
Crevax.com Ad Words Conversions almost doubled in a month of management by Netsmartz.

16%, or 320 of the contacts who received memos, replied. Of these, 112 arranged phone call follow ups and 31 became clients of Turner Mackenzie. Including the cost of the database, Turner estimated a cost of approximately $30 per acquired client. In addition, 97 clients registered for the Turner Mackenzie email alert program.

Hilltop Design Systems (HDS)

HDS, a web design and ecommerce development company, wanted to reach out to a vertical market in the financial services industry. They wished to leverage both their design templates and several financial calculators that they’d developed over the past two years.

HDS contracted with Netsmartz to send outbound emails to financial services sites which did not have the type of advanced design that Hilltop offered.

Netsmartz did the following:

  • Identified 400 contact targets using Google.
  • Created a database of these target sites.

13%, or 52 of the contacts who received memos, replied either calling directly or requesting pricing details by email. Of these, 30 arranged phone call follow ups. Of these, 12 engaged HDS for site upgrades, and 7 purchased calculators as stand-alone products. HDS estimated a cost of approximately $33 per acquired client.
